Program Description:
MOSAIC offerS a wide variety of activities that are carefully designed to meet seniors’ interests and to strengthen and stimulate the emotional, intellectual and physical health of older adult immigrants and refugees. Activities include Yoga Classes, English Language Conversation Groups, Computer Training, Home Visitations, Wii Games, Volunteer Opportunities and Field Trips. This program provides language support in a variety of languages.
- Seniors Club provides workshops, field trips, group activities (chess club, Taichi, computer classes), English conversation circles and one-on-one settlement support.
- Senior Programs are also part of the Burnaby Better At Home Consortium, which provides light housekeeping and transportation for medical appointments to Burnaby seniors (65+) living independently. This is a fee-for-service on sliding scale.
- Empowerment Through Calligraphy offers calligraphy drop-in classes.
- My Community Home Visitation trains volunteers in providing more personalized language support via home visits to seniors
