Letter from AACCCS -ISSAMBA Centre

Dear Community Partners and Allies,

On behalf of the African Art and Cultural Community Contributor (Services) (AACCCS), please accept this letter as a valued community member. As most of you are aware, the Resilience BC Community Conveners Pilot Project has made an enormous stride, thanks to most of you and our project team.

We have reached close to 900 people in our Survey, which launched two weeks ago. Focus groups will start soon, advisory groups are ready, and there is always room for most of you to join us in this worthwhile initiative.

Our goal is to reach 1500 people of African Descent before the second week of June, and we need your help; please spread the Survey now. Here is the link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/blackinbc

The project team is in touch with Municipal, Provincial government authorities, and other community stakeholders. Consultations are ongoing with Black leaders willing to engage actively, and you can be one of them if you are not yet involved. We can either sit on the fence and complain or relent our efforts to better the next generations.

This project is more important than one individual or our differences. We are not perfect and will like most of you to join community conversations and focus groups to get your feedback.

You are taking this opportunity to welcome to join upcoming focus groups slated for May 29 to mid-July. Register Here for May 29’conversation. Your participation in this process is valuable and it’s only with one voice that we can combat that one enemy called Racism. Disunity at this time will only empower Racism and put our community in an endless cycle of hopelessness. Progress is inevitable, and your participation is consequential.

If you require more information and will like to be involved in one of our working committees as a Volunteer, please contact us via email at blackinbccommunityconvener@gmail.com and phone number 778-402-0977

Sincerely,
AACCCS -ISSAMBA CENTRE
