Does famed Canadian businessman and Raptors “Superfan” Nav Bhatia celebrate Thanksgiving?

“Not just every year – but every day!” said Bhatia enthusiastically, during a recent interview on why the holiday is so important to himself and his family. “Thanksgiving is a celebration to truly give thanks not just in a meal, but to a country as great as Canada is.”

Bhatia spoke of his arriving on Canadian shores 40 years ago for a new life: “Like any other immigrant, especially Indian, I came here (after escaping persecution of Sikhs in India), to start a new life for myself and my family.” It was not without stumbling blocks – “I’ve had so many speedbumps!” – and yes, the question of his wearing a turban would come up, “but I always wanted to change the perception in a positive way. Yes, I do remember so clearly being laughed at, being made fun of … but I also knew I lived in the best country in the world.
